Every April, Credit Union Youth Month encourages kids to develop healthy savings habits by making savings fun and exciting. This month's 'Blast into Savings' space theme, makes saving for the future fun and helps our junior members appreciate the importance of putting money aside for the things they want or will need someday. Plus, it's important for them to know their friends at UFirst are here to help them throughout their financial journey. Help us to empower your kiddos to save for their future and engage them with our Youth Month Activities!

How to Participate:

For Parents/Guardians/Grandparents: 

Not sure how to empower your kids to save for their future? Now's the perfect time to help the children and teens in your life take steps towards smart money habits. 

Here's a few tips: 

  • Get real with them! Children will have a lifelong relationship with money. Make it a positive one by teaching your kiddos money concepts as they grow. Have at-home conversations about spending and saving by sharing how you save money for items you purchase. 
  • Provide them a place to save and encourage them to set aside some of their money for something they are wanting. Maybe a piggy bank at home. Then when that's full, start a Usaver account at your favorite credit union - we have options for youth and teens! And during the month of April, the $5 deposit is on us! 
    • Already have an account setup?! Check out our new Usaver Account Certificate options that will help to boost their savings faster. You can open a Usaver Certificate with funds deposited all at once or in increments by transfer, so you can save
